Cheryll Y. Greene is an independent editor who works with writers, publishers, institutions, and organizations through her business, The Editor’s Eye. She has also taught writing and organized literary events. She has been executive editor of Essence Magazine and managing editor of the Malcolm X Project and Souls: A Critical Journal of Black Politics, Culture, and Society at Columbia University. A Malcolm X specialist, she was curatorial and research consultant for the 2005 exhibition at the Schomburg Center and developmental editor of Malcolm X: Make It Plain (Viking, 1994), companion volume to the award-winning Blackside, Inc./PBS documentary film.
