Deyanira F. Del Rio is Director of Programs at the Neighborhood Economic Development Advocacy Project (NEDAP), where she oversees programs that promote financial justice in New York City's lower income neighborhoods. She co-authored and widely teaches a curriculum on individual and community economic rights, and heads a GIS mapping project that exposes discriminatory lending and financial services patterns. Recently, Ms. Del RÃ_o launched the NYC Immigrant Financial Justice Project to address barriers faced by undocumented immigrants, in particular, in the banking and credit systems. She has spoken out against financial injustice on local and national media, and co-hosts "On the Money, with NEDAP," a new show airing on local public access television. Before joining NEDAP, she was a program officer at the National Federation of Community Development Credit Unions and organized the First Latino Credit Union Conference. She is Vice-President of the Board of Directors of the Lower East Side People's Federal Credit Union. Born and raised in San Francisco, she moved to New York City in 1994 and received a BA in Metropolitan Studies from New York University.
