Coco Fusco

Coco Fusco is a New York-based interdisciplinary artist and writer. She is the author of English is Broken Here: Notes on Cultural Fusion in the Americas and The Bodies That Were Not Ours and Other Writings) and the editor of Corpus Delecti: Performance Art of the Americas and Only Skin Deep: Changing Visions of the American Self. Fusco's performances and videos have been included in such events as The Shanghai Biennale, The Whitney Biennial, Sydney Biennale, The Johannesburg Biennial, The Kwangju Biennale, The London International Theatre Festival, Transmediale and the National Review of Live Art. She recently curated a comprehensive exhibition on racial taxonomy in American photography for the International Center for Photography, Only Skin Deep: Changing Visions of the American Self, that is currently on tour. Fusco is represented by The Project Gallery in New York. She is a recipient of a 2003 Herb Alpert Award in the Arts.
