Ms. Bhojwani is currently a consultant to the Carnegie Corporation of New York. She previously managed the philanthropy program for London, Europe & Asia at Bloomberg LP, overseeing the funding of arts and charity initiatives totalling ten million dollars. From 2002 to 2004, Ms. Bhojwani served under Mayor Michael R. Bloomberg as the first New York City Commissioner of the Mayor's Office of Immigrant Affairs, which she built into a vital resource for City agencies and immigrant communities and through which New York City's Immigrant History Week was established in 2004. In 1996, she founded South Asian Youth Action (SAYA!), the first and only organization of its kind in the United States, and served as its Executive Director for five years. Ms. Bhojwani was a recipient of the Charles H. Revson Fellowship on the Future of the City of New York in 2001 and has been recognized with numerous awards for her leadership in the voluntary sector and on immigrant issues in New York. She serves on the board of the New York Foundation and the New York Women's Foundation and on the Advisory Committee for the Charles H. Revson Fellowship, a program on the future of New York at Columbia University.
