"In the Revson program and in these classes, I’ve had the opportunity to think about my work, how I as a “medium” shape the message, and learn new ways to analyze these things and better express them in new ways to people I’ve never met before."

Alumni Network

Alumni NetworkingThe Revson Fellowship has welcomed over 300 Fellows to Columbia University since the program’s inception in 1979.  A large majority of Revson alumni continue to live and work in the New York City area and continue to play an active role in the Revson community. Alumni are invited to join current Fellows during their weekly seminars and frequently contribute their diverse perspectives to the discussion. The Fellowship also hosts larger gatherings throughout the year for alumni and current Fellows.

Even before Fellows complete their Revson year, they are encouraged to draw upon the active alumni network as a resource.  The program staff frequently introduce current Fellows to alumni for mentoring and Fellows are encouraged to participate in the “Take an Alum to Lunch Program”.  Alumni advise Fellows on course selections and serve as resources during the fellowship year and after.

Alumni have collaborated on books, started organizations together, and served as an invaluable support network for each other.  Many have found new professional positions, advertised events, and shared their thoughts on an active alumni email list. Lastly, Revson alumni become alumni of Columbia University upon completion of the Revson year. As alumni of Columbia University, former Fellows have access to Columbia University’s libraries, career centers, online resources, athletic facilities, and events.
